High Five for Friday

Hey y'all!  TGIF!  Hope you all survived the week.  I am looking forward to the weekend to re-charge.  Can you believe Thanksgiving is just 2 weeks away?

1.  Veterans day.  One of my biggest regrets in life is never joining the armed forces.  What you say?  That is right.  I wish I would have joined straight out of high school.  Get my education paid for and serve my country.  It was never presented to me as a youngster that it was something I could do.  I see all the benefits now and wish I would have done things differently.  My Dad always dreamed of my brother joining the army, but maybe he should have worked on me.  Who knows?

I celebrate all the members of my family that have served.  Dad was army, Maternal Grandpa was navy, Aunt - navy, and many more down the line.  Dad says I could be a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  Pretty cool.
Thank you to the past and present who have fought for our country. Especially my Dad Staff Sergeant William C. Carr (Army, Vietnam War), my Aunt Nancy Carr (Navy), and my Grandpa Lt. Donald Lagle (Navy, WWII).  Dad on left, Grandpa on right.

2.  Trick or treating with the nieces was so COOL!  My brother and sister in law live in a suburb of Cleveland.  Their neighborhood goes all out.  Hayrides, hot chocolate, candy, candy, candy, awesome decorations, and even one neighbor has a full bar.  I mean it was everything my Halloween dreams are made of.  I had so much fun!  We walked the girls around the neighborhood.  Then Kylie and I sat outside and passed out candy.  We may or may not have been running some quality control on the candy.........you know........... eating it.  (Whoops!)  We had to make sure it wasn't bad.  #auntlife

Do you know how hard it is to take a good picture of an almost 2 year old?  LOL.  We have Elsa from Frozen on the left.  Minnie Mouse on the right.  Minnie was more interested in holding all her candy than putting it in her bucket.

3.  I got to keep Baby K for several days before Halloween.  (Check out our fun doings, here.)  Big sister K got to come home with us Saturday-Sunday.  It was so nice spending some time with her.  I don't get to see her as much because she is now a big bad kindergartner.  I love getting to be goofy with her and seeing her show us all she has learned in school.  She is starting to recognize words and write them.  Can we just keep her at this age?

We may or may not have made 10 funny videos of her dancing and jumping around.  Some of them in slo-mo.  They were so funny we both were on the floor laughing.

Going to lunch after church.  I am sorry but she looks at least 10 years old here.
Modeling her new dress from Target.  It is for emergencies when she stays at Gammy and Grandpa's and needs a good church dress.  LOL.
4.  Well ladies and gentlemen.  My Dad went and did it again.  He got ANOTHER hole in one!!!!  (Read all about the first hole in one here.)  This time he was at his home course Eagle Creek in Norwalk, Ohio.  As you can tell from the picture, the course has even been winterized.  That didn't stop the ole man!  His golfing buddies were more excited than him.  Congrats Daddio!

Second hole in one at the ripe age of 72.

5.  Last weekend I got to dog-sit for a friend.  Meet Ori!!  She is part beagle/part pug.  We had such a good time.  She is one of the most loving dogs I have ever met.  She is so easy going and cuddly, too.  We got along great.  Made me think I really should start a pet sitting business.  I love animals and to me it isn't work.  So if you ever need a pet sitter or know someone who does in the Indy area, let me know.  Be warned.  I like to spoil them terribly.

Ori trying to figure out how she can climb into my lap and give me some kisses.
