Happy 1st Birthday, Baby K!

I have so many things to be thankful for this year.  And if you've been around this blog, you know that my nieces are top of that list.  Exactly one year ago today, I got to meet this special little lady.

Since the moment I met her, I've always felt an extra special bond with her.  (I feel the same about K#1.  She just scares me because she acts a lot like me and her Mom. :-)  I feel like I have known Baby K forever.  Like she has always been in our family.  Maybe that is because she has her Dad's personality (when he was a baby.)  She is the happiest little thing.  She is pretty easy going and just goes with the flow.  The kid loves to eat and there isn't too much she won't try.  (She out eats K#1 any day.)  She lights up when she sees her big sissy and just laughs and laughs at her.  Even when K#1 is stealing her blanket.

Thanksgiving 2013
As a fellow 'holiday' baby, I want to make sure she always has a special birthday.  It is easy to forget about us.  With me as an Aunt, Baby K will never have to worry.

Christmas List

Can you believe it is almost Thanksgiving?  I mean this time next week we will be looking forward to a loooong weekend off work and stuffing our faces with yummy goodness.  I love this time of year but hate the cold weather.  I still question why my family chose to live in the Midwest.

What is on your Christmas list this year?  I would love to hear what you are wanting.  This of course is my dream list.

Iphone 6
64 in gold.  Yes I was the only idiot that didn't trade hers in for a new one.  Now that deal is done.  Maybe I will just wait for the 6S to come out.

Recliner
This should probably be #1.  I broke my recliner a couple of weeks ago.  And I am so lost without it.  I've tried fixing it but I am not sure it can be screwed back together.  My couch is not comfortable either.  I primarily sit in my recliner so I am not surprised it broke 3-4 years later.  (I got during a Black Friday sale.)  I never realized how much I used it, until I couldn't anymore.  In general, I just need new living room furniture.  Mine is kind of a hodge podge and looking old.  So if you know anyone moving that is getting rid of furniture, please let me know!
Ummmmm this would be so cool in my living room.  Obsessed with pink!

Pots and Pans
Mine are just looking old, scraped up, and rough from hard water.  My family is going to make a trip to iKEA over Thanksgiving weekend.  I may pick up some then.  But I am really looking forward to the Pioneer Woman's new cookware line next year.  I want it ALL.

Apple TV
I've gone back and forth on canceling cable and just using Netflix and Hulu.  But I have a few reservations.  I would be afraid I wouldn't be able to watch something.  On the other hand maybe I wouldn't watch as much TV.  Having an Apple TV would be nice but I'm not sure if I would use it that much.
Camera
Of course if I got a new phone, I wouldn't need a camera.  I'd love to have a fancy camera.  I would carry in my purse.  I've always liked taking pictures.  (Especially of my nieces!)

Picture Scanner
With my blog I would love to have one of these so I could scan any picture I needed.
Something super easy to use.

Cast Iron Skillet
Have you ever had cornbread cooked in a cast iron skillet.  BEST thing ever!  And there are lots and lots of other things you can make.

Industrial letters
I think these are so neat!  I scored some from QVC, and hung them on my wall.  I just L-O-V-E them.

I would love to have an Ampersand or M-K-C.

Or maybe just a 'M' like this little lady.
That is Mary Tyler Moore.  Fun fact:  We have the same birthday.  12-29.  We were meant to be BFFs.

Pajamas
I live in my pajamas.  Mine are getting kind of worn out.

Thermal Underwear
See above.  I live in the Midwest. Even though I am the hottest (temperature) person on the planet, I get cold.  So me to ask for thermal underwear is crazy!  My legs still remember last year when it was like -20 and I was trying to dig out my car.  Brrrrrrrrrr!

I am one of those people who gives gift cards and really likes to receive them.  I never know what to buy anyone.  That way you can get just what you want.  Here are some of my favorite gift card stores.

Target
iTunes
Ulta
Lane Bryant

What are you asking Santa for this Christmas?

Hey Girl Hey

Testing................

Testing 1, 2...............

Testing...........

Oh hey!  This thing still works.  So let me catch you up to speed on my exciting life.  If you forgot why I am a little absent from the blog, well I forgot too.  Darn thing is as I get older, the worse my short term memory is.  If you ask me to do something, I have to do it immediately.  Because I am likely to get distracted by a bright, shiny object.

Get to the point, Megan.  (You also start to talk to yourself as you get older.)  So I am taking a class this fall and have about a month left.  I won't get into all the boring details but that is how I spend a lot of my free time.  It comes first.  (You are being boring Megan.)  But like I mentioned in this post, when it is over..........the blog is going full force.  I've really missed having this creative outlet.

Here are the top 5 things I have been up to.

1.  I've been traveling home to see the family about once a month in Ohio.  (About a 4-4.5 hour drive.)  I. LOVE. MY. NIECES!  Like it is crazy how much I adore them.  Mom and I got to take them trick or treating.  Who knew it was so much fun?!  I dressed up as a witch.  K#1 thought it was the funniest thing that I drew a 'wart' on my face.  K#1 was a pirate fairy (last minute change from Elsa).  K#2 was Olaf the snowman.  She was just the cutest thing ever!  I think everyone we passed on the sidewalk told me how cute she was.  (Thank you I know.)

The best photo with the girls.  Baby K was very interested in my hat.
My love muffins
I just kept saying Olaf, Olaf, Olaf, Olaf really fast to get her attention.  I guess it was funny.
'Meggie let's go already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'  Mom and I thought we were never going to get out the door.  Can you spot the photobomber?
Baby K's favorite part was holding the candy.  She was happy as a clam.  She also looks cold.  I promise we had her all bundled up.
Gammy and the girls at the Halloween party at their daycare.

2.   Here are a few more photos of my adorable nieces.  I can't stop.
Katie at the apple orchard.  I'm telling you she is ALWAYS happy!

Big sister cooking eggies with Gammy.  The girl LOVES her eggs.  Will eat them off your plate, too.

3.  My family has a lot of cracks in it.  Sports related that is.  Grew up in an Indiana University lovers house.  Then I went to the enemy school......Purdue.  (Boiler up!!!)  And then my brother happened.  Still trying to figure out where we went wrong with him.  So my Mom put an IU bib on Baby K one day and something happened.  It wasn't pretty.
Photo from Gammy, "I'm off to Bloomington for my college visit."
Then this texting war began between Mom, me, Andy, and Stacey.  Grey-Andy (the smart ass comments) and Mom.  I'm in the blue.

WOW!  It is hard for my brother.  Being that he didn't go to a Big 10 school.  I feel sorry for him.  And I'm going to dis-own him the next time he puts down his birth state!  He is so EMBARRASSING!  He likes Ohio State.  GASP!!!!   (Yeah I left out 'the' in Ohio State.  I'm a rebel.  Take that!)

There is the Hoosier baby boy on the left.  1983.  And Baby K on the right.  Twins?  You tell me.  Poor thing got the big forehead, too.
In all my silliness here, I must say I love my family.  To the moon and back and then back again.  Life just doesn't get any better than that.

4.  I like to cook.  I like to eat.  I hate to do the dishes and clean up.  But I like to cook and eat.

CHILI!  I am really wishing I had some of this today on this very, very cold day.

Chicken, broccoli, rice casserole.  I wasn't too crazy about this.  But I ate it for a week.

Just an egg souffle.  My Mom saw the picture and she said, "Where did you get that?"  I said I made it!

Potato soup.  This was so easy to make.  And I ate it for a week, too!

5.  I cut 2-3 inches off my hair.  (I apologize for the bad selfies. I was trying to show you how long it was.)  It feels like a hundred times better.  I can't pull off long hair.  I don't know why I try.  It is super, super curly when short.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!  Stay warm!

I'm linking up with The Lauren Elizabeth for High Five for Friday.
