What I'm Watchin Wednesday

It is no lie that I am a HUGE TV fan.  My DVR is full of season passes.  I thought it might be fun to share with you a show each week that I would recommend.  These opinions are my own.

Sometimes I record the Today Show and happened to catch Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham on with Kathie Lee and Hoda.  I remember Jessica and Lennon from a short lived TV series called Best Friends Forever.  They were on promoting their new comedy on USA Network called Playing House.  They had great chemistry together in BFF and I was already laughing at their interview with Kathie Lee and Hoda.  I immediately added Playing House on my DVR.
L: Jessica St. Clair R: Lennon Parham (21st century Lucy and Ethel duo)
Emma (Jessica St. Clair) and Maggie (Lennon Parham) are childhood best friends.  Emma has a very important career and lives in China.  Maggie still lives in their hometown and is extremely pregnant.  During her baby shower she discovers that her husband is having an online affair with a husky, German woman.  Devastated Maggie doesn't know what to do about her crumbling marriage.  Emma is being called back to China to give a big presentation.  Emma has to choose.  Leave behind her pregnant best friend who needs her now more than ever or lose her job?  Emma decides to give up her career and help Maggie raise this child.  Because isn't that what best friends do?

The second episode really dives into to some Lucy and Ethel shenanigans.  They become friends with Jessica's high school flame Mark (Keegan-Michael Key) and his wife Tina (Lindsay Sloane).  Emma and Maggie gave Tina the nickname Bird Bones in high school because she has a condition in which her bones break easily.  Not only is Tina sweet but she is the perfect loving wife.  This drives the girls to find some fault in her character.  After having brunch at Tina's they can't find a single thing wrong with her perfect house or perfect life.  (The girls accidentally turn on the master bath shower and get soaked.  They end up wearing bath robes the whole episode.)  In the end Tina comes clean and says she is a hoarder.  She can't stop buying things from QVC and has a closet full of goodies.  She also suffers from a Cadbury Egg addiction.  The girls help her clean out the closet and decide Tina really isn't that bad.

Playing House airs on the USA Network every Tuesday at 10/9C.

Have I not mentioned my T-Rex arms before?  Made me love this show even more!

A quick funny for you!

Sunday was an adventure for this city gal.  It was a beautiful spring day in Indiana.  Not too hot, not too cold.  It was state park free admission weekend so Lee and myself met up with Cis, T, D & P, Ryan, and Beth at McCormicks Creek State Park.  Sadly I don't have one picture to show for the adventure.  We all enjoyed a lovely picnic made by Cis, T, and P.  (Those ladies can cook!)  Our first real adventure was hiking Trail 9. I was told it was an 'EASY' hike and only 1.2 miles.  1.2 miles and easy?  More like 9 miles and way too many hills!  I think I was cursing everyone under my breathe and said some crazy things like get me out of these damn woods.  (Me, dramatic?!)  Anyway I made it through and got about 8000 steps in on my FitBit.

Do you know what my prize was for finishing the trail?  Getting peed on by a puppy.  Yes you read that right.  A cute little beagle puppy was finishing her walk at the same time as me.  I just couldn't resist her cute little face.  I bent over and starting petting adorable, sweet Millie the pup.  Well as any puppy does when they get excited.......they have to relief themselves.  My left foot just happened to be in the way.  At this moment I thought even though I'm the idiot for wearing flip flops on this hike, at least I don't have tennis shoes on.  Millie went on her merry little way and I was left with a wet, sticky foot.  Something like this only happens to me.  Next time a jelly fish stings me, I will call on Millie to save the day ;-)

A BIG shout out to Ryan who stayed with me on the trail.  He was Jillian Michaels from the Biggest Loser......cheering me on.  We had a nice heart to heart as well.  Love ya Ry!

Ryan's adorable selfie on the falls at McCormicks Creek.  My hero!

High Five for Friday!!!

I'm linking up with The Lauren Elizabeth for High Five for Friday.

Who is ready for the weekend?!  This gal!!!!  I don't have any plans but looking forward to always sleeping in and just relaxing.  I have really been putting off 'spring cleaning' the apartment now for weeks.  I just can't seem to get myself motivated.  My bed just always looks so inviting for a nap or reading a book in.

Here are some pictures from the week.

Top L: K#2 at daycare with Mom.  I feel like that most days.  Kicking my feet up and looking adorable.
Top R: A beautiful day on the canal in Indy.
Bottom L: Flowers from my co-worker.  Such a pretty spring arrangement.  They are lasting forever.
Middle:  Sassy red nails.  My nails are super long right now and I love painting them bright colors.  I did a French manicure last week which turned out pretty good.  (Sidenote: I have the chubbiest, shortest fingers ever!  They match my short T-Rex arms that never can reach anything!)
Bottom R:  The Calbrinas (Sabrina and Callie) on a good day.  Kind of blurring because they wouldn't sit still.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

Disclaimer:  I know my pictures aren't the best of quality.  Sadly I just have an iPhone 4 to take pictures with.  (I mean how embarrassingly old is my phone!)  My point and shoot camera is not any better so I apologize for the poor quality.  Hopefully someday if this blog really takes off I can afford a new camera.
