5 things I have been up to....

I majorly fail as a blogger!!!  Two and a half months since my last post.  I guess I just lost my desire to write this year in general.  Which is strange because I have good ideas all the time.  I am going to try and get better.  I have had several people tell me they enjoy reading my blog and you would think that would motivate me!  Here are some things I have been up to:

1.  My family is doing just fine.  I think it is safe for me to officially say, I am going to be an Aunt again!!!!!!  #3 is on the way and due in March.  As you know I have 2 nieces who I absolutely adore.  K#1 started Kindergarten this fall.  She seems to be adjusting.  Word on the street is she hates homework and is a perfectionist.  K#2 will be 2 in November.  She is just the cutest little thing.  Tries to keep up with her big sister.  They are both going to make great big sisters.  Mom and I are hoping for a boy but of course a girl would be just fine!  My brother is already outnumbered!

Kindergarten girl!!!
And because he doesn't read my blog, I can brag on my Dad.  He got a hole in one on the golf course this summer.  Only took 40+ years.  He thinks he is cool.  Whatever.

2.  Over Labor Weekend, Mom and I took the girls to African Safari Wildlife Park in Port Clinton, Ohio.  I can't believe I had never heard of it before or realized it was so close to home.  It was really cool!  We got to drive around and feed animals.  They would come right up to your car and sometimes stick there heads in.  My favorite part was hearing my Mom squeal.  K#1 really got into it.  K#2 slept through it half way (it was her nap time.)  After your tour you could walk around a mini zoo area.  We saw pigs race and K#1 even got to ride a camel.  It was just really a neat place.  Here are some of the highlights.

If this picture had sound, you would hear my Mom squealing.

Baby K.  Looking tired.  This was right before she fell out of the stroller.  I forgot to strap her in.  #auntfail  Don't worry she was just fine.

K#1 on a camel.  This was also the time I decided I was going to buy a new iPhone.  My phone totally wouldn't bring up the camera quick enough for me to snap a pic.  I had to take this off the video I did.  But she still looks adorable.

3.  Here are just some random things.

Went to the Covered Bridge Festival last weekend in Mansfield, IN.

My festival purchase.  These are so in right now.

Tried out a restaurant in Broad Ripple called Public Green.  They sit right on the Monon Trail and change their menu weekly.  It was really yummy.

4.  In September I did have minor surgery.  I'm not sick or in terrible pain.  It was really was a non-event to me since I felt fine.  I won't get into the nitty gritty of it but I had to have a D & C done.  (If you don't know what that is, google it.)  This isn't my first one so I knew what to expect.  I have been having lots of issues in the 'lady department' and it was just time to straighten things out.  I have had problems for years now and I will probably until I hit............gasp.........menopause.  I will just say this.  Being a woman isn't always fun.  As women we don't talk about our health issues enough.  It surprises me every time I tell other women my issues, they all have a story, too.  My biggest advice to others is you have to FIGHT to get the best possible care you can.  No one is going to do it for you.

5.  I got the new iPhone 6s in rose gold!  I'm embarrassed to admit this but I was upgrading from an iPhone 4.  I had no idea how slooooooowwwww and out of date my 4 really was.  Wow!  My upgrade was 2 years over due.  I never really had $500 extra laying around to buy a new phone.  Now my cell phone provider offers a payment plan.  Which is right up my alley.  Hopefully now my pictures will be better on here!

That is my life lately in a nutshell.  Loving this fall weather!  It can stay in the 60s until next April.  That would be just fine with me!  Have a great weekend!

Apartment Tour

So I moved back at the end of April.  I left downtown city life for a more quiet, calmer life in the Broad Ripple greater area of Indy.  (Broad Ripple is kind of a cool, hip area.  Lots of local restaurants and bars.)  This post is loonnnggg over due.  I am blaming some minor health issues and lack of motivation to clean my apartment to picture worthy standards.  Also I just recently hung the pictures on my walls.  Moving is hard, okay?!  My Mom and niece came to visit last weekend.  That gave me motivation to clean and get everything perfect.

Before I reveal my new digs, there are a few things you should know first.  I like pink.  I also like the Eiffel Tower.  (Yes I have been there.)  I have 2 cats.  They have lots of belongings.  I like pink.  My furniture doesn't match.  It is kind of a hodge podge of things I have gotten over the years or inherited.  But it works for me.
The living room.  That is the front door to the right.

Living room.  That screen to the left blocks the cat litter box.  Girls needs their privacy.
TV from my spot on the recliner.
Hallway to bathroom and bedroom.
This could be a dining room area.  I got rid of my dining room table several years ago.  I found I didn't use it.

View from my recliner.  That pink lamp was my Grandmother's.  It is my most prized possession.  If there ever is a fire, I'm going in for it.
View from my deck.  It is so pretty!  And quiet.
Deck chairs.  I haven't done much out here.  No plants.  Because I truly have such a black thumb!!!
Living room at large
Kitchen.  At first I thought this kitchen would never work.  But it is actually the perfect size.  To the left I have a HUGE pantry.  I have been able to fit everything in here.
Kitchen from another view.  That black thing is my dishwasher.  Tiniest dishwasher in the whole world but I can fit a lot in.
Hallway.  Picture on the right is me and my grandparents at my baptism.  My Grandpa baptized me.  Also another prized possession.
Bathroom.  Shower is to the right.
Hallway back to bedroom.  Linen closet is to the right.
Bedroom.  That is Callie on the bed.  Sabrina is under the bed.  They were scared because I had just vacuumed.
Bedroom.  I am standing in front of my walk in closet.  Don't mind my dirty clothes hamper.
Bedroom/Desk area.  That is a cat toy on the floor.
This concludes the tour.  For my safety, I'm not going to reveal the name of my new complex.  But if you want to private message me, I would be happy to share.  I really love my new place.  They have great amenities.
Like a playground for visiting nieces.
Kid approved!
And a salt water pool for these mermaids.

In the moment

HAPPY WEEKEND TO YOU!!!

Feeling:  Like I want to spend money like crazy.  Payday does this to me.
Thinking:  Do I have the will power to go to the grocery store today?  I probably can handle Aldi.  If you don't shop there, you need to check it out.  Just like their commercial says, you will cut your bill in half.
Missing:  My nieces.  My Mom and Dad.  Their hugs and making me laugh.

Watching:  My current favorite show is Bringing up Bates.  Oh my gosh their family is so adorable.
Check them out Thursday at 9pm on UPtv

Reading:  The Astronaut Wives Club by Lily Koppel.
The show is also pretty good.  Thursdays at 8pm ABC.

Excited:  I just bought a new computer on QVC with 6 easy pays.  It is the way to go folks!

Wondering:  When am I going to go home to see the family again in Ohio.  I HATE driving.
Proud:  Of my niece K#1 for her swim meet yesterday.  At 5 she swam 25m free, 25m back, and a relay.  Ummm hello I could barely do all that at 8!
Pics from a previous swim meet.  I just love this collage.

Wanting:  To wake up one day and suddenly be a size 14/16.  I'm not even picky.  I don't mind being slightly plus size :-)
High school skinny self.  I use to think I fat.  HA!

Wishing:  I had a sugar Daddy!  I'm not kidding!  *wink, wink
Between me and her we have dried up this sugar Daddy's wallet.
Eating:  Last night Lee and I went on a DQ run.  I had the most delicious peanut butter cup blizzard with chocolate ice cream...................
Drinking:  Iced hazelnut coffee from McDonald's.  I'm officially old because I crave coffee all the time now.
Loving:  My new apartment.  I'll be doing a tour of the new place next week.  Stayed tuned!

Thanks for stopping by.  Hopefully I made you laugh a little bit!
